Supported by timber trusses and arboreal columns, the restaurant's great monopitch roof recalls the traditional African stoep or veranda. The long terrace (a modern version of the traditional African stoep or veranda) is shaded by a group of mature jacaranda trees. The roof extends beyond the irregular plan form to create a veranda space, connecting inside with outside, a variation on the traditional South African stoep, or covered porch. |
