The bad news for Hannibal's mother is that she dies in the movie's opening minutes, along with Hannibal's father and assorted other loved ones when a Nazi warplane strafes them. The first meeting garners a small handful of the bereaved and troubled, including a mysterious and unkempt woman in a black shawl, who discloses she has spent thirty-five years in a mental hospital, and strafes the others around the table with an aggressive and intimidating glare. Lying on the helicopter floor, Marilyn extends her upper torso fully outside the bay (a pair of hefty enlisted men holding her legs) as the chopper repeatedly strafes the front. |
