In the latest generation of solution styrene-butadiene rubber (SSBR), which is currently at the development stage at Germany-based Lanxess, significant further improvements have been made in the incorporation of silica filler into the rubber network, the company says.
The Asian price of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) and polybutadiene rubber (BR), which peaked in July at $4,090/mt, saw a 27% month-on-month drop down to $2,750/mt in October (the latest price).
Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) is one of the elastomers that is widely employed in the tire industry, underground coal mining, rugs, carpet underlay, and car floor mats.
