A refractory case of subacute bacterial endocarditis due to Veillonella gazogenes clinically arrested by a combination of penicillin, sodium paraaminohippurate, and heparin.
Six diagnoses were identified as primary contributors to these extended lengths of stay: pancreatitis, cancer, osteomyelitis, short bowel syndrome, subacute bacterial endocarditis, and hyperemesis.
Subacute bacterial endocarditis due to Flavobacterium meningosepticum.
