(engineering)
An intermediate compression station to repressure a fluid being transported by pipeline over a long distance.
(mining engineering)
A subsidiary station for the conversion of power to the type, usually direct current, and voltage needed for mining equipment and fed into the mine power system.

The electrical equipment (e.g., circuit breakers, switches, transformers, and busses) associated with the service entrance or other major transformation and distribution equipment concentrated in one location in areas of building complexes or on floors of high-rise buildings.
