A pump that raises water by the force of atmospheric pressure pushing it into a partial vacuum under the valved piston, which retreats on the upstroke.

A pump which raises water, or draws water in plumbing, by producing a partial vacuum within a pipe.

Rough sea conditions are disrupting attempts by divers using vacuum suction pumps to get all the dead fish out and transported for incineration to a rendering plant in Co Meath.
Plated for 44-tonne GTW, the FM12 has been equipped with a VBG drawbar coupling and features a custom-built 3,000 gallon ADR vacuum tank with twin high suction pumps to give a versatile machine.
