(inorganic chemistry)
SF6A colorless gas soluble in alcohol and ether, slightly soluble in water, sublimes at -64°C; used as a dielectric in electronics.

CO2 makes up some 80 percent of the world's greenhouse gases, but five others--nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, sulphur hexafluoride and methane--also contribute.
Beside CO2 and PFCs, the Protocol includes four other man-made gases that heat up the atmosphere: methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6).
