sweet clover or melilot (mĕl`əlŏt), Eurasian and North African leguminous herbs of the genus Melilotus of the family Leguminosae (pulse pulse, in botany, common name for members of the Fabaceae (Leguminosae), a large plant family, called also the pea, or legume, family.
