telautograph [te′lȯd·ə‚graf]
(communications)
A writing telegraph instrument in which manual movement of a pen at the transmitting position varies the current in two circuits in such a way as to cause corresponding movements of a pen at the remote receiving instrument; ordinary handwriting can thus be transmitted over wires.
