On page one, section five of the user guide, it clearly states that I need to unplug the fax machine from the AC wall socket and telephone Jack before cleaning.
There is a telephone line required and usually telephone jacks in order for the service to start.
The SPH-200 connects to any existing analog telephone jack and a 110vac outlet for a plug-in power supply.
