i. A facility that alerts the pilot when the aircraft reaches a preset altitude above the terrain during descent. This facility is in the form of an audio and/or visual warning.
ii. A terrain or an obstruction alert is issued when, in the controller's judgment, an aircraft's altitude places it in an unsafe proximity to the terrain and/or obstructions.
