Malvern Hills

Malvern Hills, range of hills, c.9 mi (14.5 km) long, W central England, in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The highest points are the Worcester Beacon (1,395 ft/425 m) and the Hereford Beacon (1,114 ft/340 m); on the latter was an ancient British camp.

We were amazed by the beauty of Herefordshire, with fir-covered hillsides merging into the Malverns and the Black Mountains, and the savoured delights of slowly exploring a county which has thus far managed to avoid a motorway.
The Malverns by Moonlight event is being organised to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and will take place on Saturday October 3.
Points of interest include a decades-old ant hill colony, barn owl hunting and nesting area, pollen and nectar habitat and a picnic area with panoramic views of Stratford, the Vale of Evesham, the Malverns and beyond.
