NATIONAL Museums Liverpool is asking us all to get involved in RayWatch, a conservation project helping to track threatened Thornback Rays in the Mersey and Liverpool Bay.
The Brotton angler was fishing for thornback rays from a pier on the west coast of Lewis when a whopping 195lb common skate took his mackerel and squid bait.
ONLY a couple of weeks ago I was writing about Dave Rogers' quest for one of the rare thornback rays caught locally which he accomplished with a fine thornback of 8lb 4oz.
