5. any of the small fleshy protuberances beneath the tongue in horses and cattle

Barbs consist of the popular Tiger Barbs, Five Banded Barb, Cherry Barb, Checker Barb and Tinfoil Barb.
Stay away from fin nipping fish like Tiger Barbs and Serpae Tetras.
Avoid aggressive fish such as Tiger Barbs and Rosy Barbs that may appear to be peaceful when young but grow up into bullies.
