Tilbury (tĭl`bərē), part of the urban district of Thurrock Thurrock, district (1991 pop. 124,300), 63 sq mi (163 sq km), Essex, SE England, on the Thames River. The district includes Tilbury, which has large docks that are part of the Port of London.
