1. a shade of a colour, esp a pale one 2. a colour that is softened or desaturated by the addition of white tint [′tint] (graphic arts) An even tone area on a printed page, often produced by screening black or a color to give a lighter shade. (optics) The mixture of a pure color with white. tint A light color made by mixing a small amount of the pure color with a large amount of white.
