(inorganic chemistry)
A salt of titanic acid; titanates of the M2TiO3type are called metatitanates, those of the M4TiO4type are called orthotitanates; an example is sodium titanate, (Na2O)2Ti2O5.

INTRODUCTION Composite films composed of polymer films and dielectric ceramics such as titanates are of high interest in material science fields.
Subjects include PL of disordered titanates from a joint experimental and theoretical analysis, mechanisms behind PL emission in scheelite structures, microplasma synthesis of tunable photoluminescent Si quantum dots, and sulfide semiconductor nanostructures and PL properties.
