IF you've ever tossed a pancake only to find it stuck to the ceiling - or decorating the kitchen floor - then a few handy hints on flipping those pancake-day treats on Shrove Tuesday next week - might be in order.
Terry Cleaver (3-49-55) and Andy Norton (3-55-47) made their marathon debuts, and Dale Lyons tossed a pancake as he went round in 4-19-55.
Massey Ferguson veteran Dale Lyons (4-35-20), one of 40 ever-presents since the event began in 1981, tossed a pancake to pass away the time - ''I lost one around 10 miles into the race, but fortunately I was carrying a couple of spares'' - while clubmate David Phillips finished five minutes later and, taking part this year for Crimestoppers, achieved his aim of reaching a total of pounds 10,000 for charity raised through eight marathons.
