touch scroll

The capability of scrolling an image, page or list on a touch screen by touching anywhere on the item and moving it. It eliminates having to point accurately at a scroll bar or to press screen icons or physical buttons. Popularized on products such as the iPhone due to their small screens, touch scrolling migrated to laptop and desktop screens due to their convenience. See touch screen, multitouch and scroll mouse.

iPhone Touch Scrolling

Scrolling photos on the iPhone is accomplished by touching anywhere on the images and sliding them left or right. Most pages and lists on the iPhone are also scrolled in a similar manner.
