Toy Terrier

Toy Terrier 

(in Russian, toiter’er), a breed of small terrier of unknown origin. The dog measures 18–26 cm in height and is of delicate constitution. It has a round head with a pointed nose, large protruding eyes, and long erect or semierect ears. The legs are long, and the tail is docked. The hair is short and is almost lacking on the underparts. The coloring may be black and brown with sharply defined markings of red and gray. The dog is bred only in the USSR.

It is said to be a mixture of several breeds like the German Pointer (GSP), German Shepherd, Thuringian Shepherd, Rottweiler, Pinscher, Manchester Terrier, Beauceron, Black Greyhound, The English Toy Terrier (Black and Tan), Great Dane, and Weimaraner.
Most authorities agree the Miniature Pinscher is the German development of the toy terrier and has been known in Germany and other European countries for hundreds of years.
