transmittance [tranz′mid·əns]
(analytical chemistry)
During absorption spectroscopy, the amount of radiant energy transmitted by the solution under analysis.
(electromagnetism)
The radiant power transmitted by a body divided by the total radiant power incident upon the body. Also known as transmission.

transmittance
When radiant flux is incident on a medium, the ratio of the flux which emerges from the medium to the flux which is incident upon it.
