Transposable elements, the promoter regions of housekeeping genes, and cis-acting regulatory elements of imprinted genes are three key epigenetic susceptibility targets containing CpG sites that are normally methylated, unmethylated, and differentially methylated, respectively.
But that does not mean we cannot develop transposable strategies, strategies that will allow us to compare and contrast different cases so that we might avoid the limits of parochialism and illuminate the particularities of given cases in new ways.
