The poetry soothes, the rooftop lawn is effortlessly mown--and the cute, tweaky, intelligent architecture of the 40-year-olds is being ignored by the new kids on the block. Dunno if it's a recent one or kinda old, but I get the idea that they are mostly the same: People send in random bits of found stuff that is generally on the tweaky or funny side, such as love notes between junior high kids, bizarre photos, notes left on cars, etc. Swept clean of portents and mutations, it seems to be saying something of genuine import about nature and antinature: that is, not much, except that there they are, in the tweaky crystalline light of Claritin advertisements, and it's hard to tell them apart. |
