v-process

[′vē ‚prä·səs]
(nuclear physics)
The synthesis of certain elements and nuclides in type II supernovas; in this process, the inelastic scattering of neutrinos emitted from the core of the supernova excites states that then decay via single or multiple nucleon emission.
