Deputy First Minister and Minister for the Economy and Transport, Ieuan Wyn Jones, yesterday announced that Cerdyn Cymru pass holders will have free rail travel on the Conwy Valley Line between Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llandudno, and on the Welsh section of the Wrexham to Bidston Line.
Atherstone is served by London Midland's new Trent Valley line service, which operates hourly trains between London Euston and Crewe, via Nuneaton.
On April 29 the train will pick up passengers at a number stations including Rugby, Coventry, Birmingham International and Lichfield City before heading to Middlesborough where it joins the Esk Valley Line to Whitby.
