variable air valve (VAV)
In an HVAC system, a control unit consisting of a metal box containing damper-position control equipment, a controller, and a sensor. The box is usually supplied with “primary” air through a duct from the main distribution system; the output delivers air to diffusers located in the space being served.

Margaret Cresswell travelled to the Algarve resort of Praia Do Vau with her family after booking their holiday with Thomas Cook - but the 69-year-old gran, from Birmingham,was rushed to hospital with burns to her body from the waist down after taking a shower.
The estate was the product of three geniuses Louis XIV later patronized -- architect Louis Le Vau, designer and painter Charles Le Brun, and garden expert Andre Le Notre -- and the party marked the first performance of Moliere's Les Facheux.
