(computer science)
A device for checking card punching semimechanically; it mimics keypunch machine operation, but reads prepunched cards without punching any new holes, and signals if the card does not agree with data entered through the verifier keyboard in some column.

Energy Group recently released The Verifier Gauge, an advanced ultrasonic measurement system which enables apartment and commercial building owners and managers to verify the amount of oil they receive, as well as control their inventory and budget.
Verifier automatically extracts properties from Verilog RTL designs to uncover such problems as multiple clock domain synchronization errors, Finite State Machine (FSM) deadlock, and Code Reachability errors.
The verification process works if the prover's identity is tied to a mathematical statement for which the prover but not the verifier or a potential eavesdropper has a proof.
