At the close of the summit, which was sponsored by the National Institute on Media and the Family and Iowa State University, 14 experts and organizations signed the following joint statement: "Behavioral science research demonstrates that playing violent video games can increase the likelihood of aggressive behavior in children and youth. Video games teach deductive reasoning, memory strategies, and often, content-area knowledge. |
