Vocal Music

music intended to be sung. Vocal music includes works for one, several, or many voices without accompaniment (solo songs, ensembles, a cappella choruses) and any works for singing with instrumental accompaniment. In all vocal music compositions the human voice has the leading role. With the exception of a few varieties, vocal works are connected with the words or a poetic text by singing. (See.)
