| For smaller boats, it is about 100 to 150 tons of cargo they give up per inch of water loss. I would imagine that this summer's blazing and continuous heat has been particularly hard on tropicals such as avocado, whose large and floppy foliage may fall as insurance against water loss. High speeds are attributed to a coex spiral die (similar to a stack die for blown film) plus a spray-cooling ring and 12 calibrator plates in the water bath with "water stops" borrowed from high-speed wire/cable lines to minimize water loss. |
