webring
A navigation system that links related Web sites together in a circular chain. Each site has the same navigation system with Previous and Next buttons taking users around the ring. The webring is used to link sites for social purposes as well as to increase search engine rankings.

The Original WebRing
Derived from Dennis Howe's EUROPa (Expanding Unidirectional Ring of Pages) in 1994, WebRing was founded in 1995 by Sage Weil. Through acquisitions, WebRing wound up with Yahoo!, which later dropped it, and the system was reclaimed by one of the original developers. For more information, visit www.webring.com.
