A user interface that is based entirely on graphic elements, called "widgets" or "icons." Designed for remote control operation on large TV screens as well as finger operation on tiny handheld screens, the widget-based interface provides the simplest user interface on the market; voice recognition being an exception. A Widget-Based Interface
Apple's iPhone interface is based entirely on graphic elements called "widgets" or "icons." Tapping an icon launches the application, which may have search boxes, data entry fields and other interactive user functions, but the home screens contain only graphic elements.
