EOC is a relatively new copolymer of ethylene and 1-octene
developed through constrained geometry catalyst technology .
Despite the natural occurrence of Nonanal in several natural oils, it is still commercially produced by the hydro-formulation of 1-octene
. Nonanal is used as a chemical intermediate in various industries but it is widely found in perfumes.
These lost compounds were acetic acid, 1-nonenal, 1-butanol, 4-ethylcyclohexanol, 2,6-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-methyl phenol, 2-pentyl ester, 4-methylcyclopentene, benzene, heptadecane, 1-octene
, 2-butanone, 3-octen-2-one, acetophenone, beta-linalool, methane, and cyclopropane.
Recently much interest has been applied to carbon nanofiller reinforced Engage trademark (Dow) ethylene--octene copolymers (EOCs), made by selective catalysts causing regular distribution of 1-octene
comonomers, and leading to good dispersion of CNTs in their matrices of thermoplastic elastomer behaviour .

The copolymer consists of 20 to 44 wt % ethylene, 1 -butene, 1 -hexene or 1-octene
and from 80 to 56 wt % propylene.
