ADN

 

(abbreviation for Allgemeiner Deutscher Nachrichtendienst), the news agency of the German Democratic Republic. It is located in Berlin and was founded in October 1946. The ADN has permanent correspondents in more than 38 countries (1968) and maintains contract relations with 48 foreign news agencies for information exchange. It distributes daily radio programs in more than 30 countries. The ADN photo service (Zentralbild) receives photographs from 45 countries.
