AMD-V(AMD Virtualization) The virtual machine capability in AMD's CPU chips. The AMD-V circuits added virtual machine instructions to the AMD64 family of x86 CPUs. Introduced in 2006, AMD-V was originally code-named Pacifica. See virtual machine, hardware virtualization and VT.
