AV storm

A serious degradation of system performance when an antivirus scan is scheduled to run at the same time in multiple virtual machines on the same computer. Advanced antivirus programs are aware of virtualization and can limit scans to a maximum number of VMs or coordinate scanning at different intervals. See virtual machine and antivirus program.
