Abraam Kretatsi

 

Birth date unknown; died 1737. Armenian historian; catholicos, 1734–37.

Abraam Kretatsi is known for his Historiography (first edition, Calcutta, 1796), which contains interesting materials on Iranian-Turkish wars, the political and economic life of Armenia and neighboring countries from 1734 to 36, and the author’s many meetings with the Iranian shah Nadir.
