Afshars

Afshars
a Turkic-speaking people living primarily in northern Iran and also in some other areas of Iran; also in Turkey and Afghanistan (near Kabul). In 1967 the total population was estimated at more than 350,000. The Af-shars lead a semisedentary way of life; they are engaged in herding and breeding livestock and partially in farming. Their religion is the Shiite doctrine of Islam.
