Agerpres

 

(abbreviation of Agenţia Română de Presă), Rumanian Press Agency. Located in Bucharest; established in 1949; attached to the Council of Ministers.

Agerpres furnishes the press with domestic and foreign news. It transmits abroad daily summaries of Rumanian political, economic, and cultural concerns in Russian, French, German, English, and Spanish. Since 1949 the agency has published a bimonthly bulletin entitled Rumania: Documents, Articles, Information.
