agribusiness

  1. AGRICULTURE conducted as a large-scale capitalist business enterprise.
  2. economic activities closely related to or directly dependent on agriculture, including the production of producer goods for agriculture (e.g. farm machinery, fertilizers) as well as the sale of agricultural produce as food and raw materials.
