1. Abbreviation for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, which all seek to provide thermal comfort, acceptable indoor air quality, and reasonable installation, operation, and maintenance costs.
2. A rating system, seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER), used to measure the efficiency of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps. The higher the rating, the more energy efficient it is. Air conditioners that are 14 or higher SEER meet Energy Star criteria.

HVAC(Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) In the home or small office with a handful of computers, HVAC is more for human comfort than the machines.
