In areas that are completely protected from water, like under a soffit, you can use a 15-gauge air nailer with galvanized nails and fill the holes with paintable caulk or filler.
Returns usually split if you try to fasten them with nails, even if you use an air nailer.
Keep shop dust out of your air nailer and protect the air hose connector from dents and dings between uses.
