Aktau

 

an urban-type settlement in Tel’man Raion, Karaganda Oblast, Kazakh SSR. It is on the Murza railroad station, 70 km north of Karaganda. Population, 16,000 (1968). Aktau’s industry centers on the production of building materials: a cement factory, asbestos-cement products, and others. There is also an industrial technicum.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hossein Jaberi Ansari condemned a recent deadly terrorist attack in the Kazakh city of Aktau which resulted in the death and injury of over 40 people.
The corridor will stretch in two directions: through the territory of Kazakhstan and Russia to Europe and through Kazakhstan from Khorgos to Aktau port and on the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijan and then the path will move through Georgia.
DP World provides advisory services for the development of the Khorgos Special Economic Zone and Inland Container Depot with a similar arrangement under a separate contract for the Port of Aktau Kazakhstan's main cargo and bulk terminal on the Caspian Sea.
Since the agreement, the Khorgos dry port has been built in just 18 months and is on track for launch in July this year while the logistics and industrial zone will be completed as planned next year resulting in more general cargo flowing through Aktau from the expansion.
