Akzhal

 

an urban-type settlement in Zharminskii Raion, Semipalatinsk Oblast, Kazakh SSR. It is situated in the foothills of the Rudnyi Altai, 16 km east of the Zhangiztobe railroad station. Population in 1968, 3,200.


Akzhal

 

an urban-type settlement in Shetskii Raion, Karaganda Oblast, Kazakh SSR. It is located 120 km southeast of the Agadyr’ railroad station on the Karaganda-Mointy line. Population in 1968, 3,000. It is the site of a concentration plant for locally mined lead and zinc ores.
