Alkhanchurt Valley

 

an elongated depression between the Terek and Sunzha mountain ridges in Ciscaucasia, located principally on the territory of Chechen-Ingush ASSR. Alkhanchurt Valley is 110 km long and up to 10 km wide. It has steppe terrain, most of it under cultivation, and is irrigated by the Alkhanchurt canal from the Terek River.
