Almazar

 

(until 1963, Vrevskii), an urban-type settlement in Iangiiul’ Raion, Tashkent Oblast, Uzbek SSR. It is situated on the right bank of the Chirchik River (in the basin of the Syrdar’ia River). Almazar is a station on the Tashkent-Khavast railroad line. Population in 1968, 18,500. Furniture is manufactured there. Almazar is the site of a brick factory, a construction materials combine, a horticultural and vinicultural sovkhoz, and a sovkhoz technicum.
