Alsunga

 

an urban-type settlement in Kuldīga Raion, Latvian SSR. It is a railroad station on the Ventspils-Liepaja line with a 30-km branch to Kuldiga. Alsunga had a population of 2,600 in 1968. It has woodworking enterprises and a 14th-century castle.
