Altan Bulak

 

(formerly Maimachen), a city in the Mongolian People’s Republic, in Selenga aimak. The population is more than 2,000. Altan Bulak is located on the Chita (USSR)-Choibalsan (MPR) highway at the Mongolian-Soviet border, across from the town of Kiakhta (USSR). It has tanneries and other enterprises for processing stock-farm products.
