A unit of volume in the Amagat system, used in the study of the behavior of gases under pressure; it is equal to the volume occupied by 1 mole of a gas at a pressure of 1 atmosphere and a temperature of 0°C; for an ideal gas this is 0.0224141 ± 0.0000002 cubic meter.
