Amvrosievka

 

city (until 1938 a settlement) and administrative center of Amvrosievka Raion, Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. The city, with a population of 22,000 (1968), is a major cement-producing center in the Ukraine, and is the location of the Stroidetal’ (building materials) plant and a reinforced concrete products factory. It also has a food-processing industry (dairy, cannery, and the like), a garment industry, and a railroad station. An industrial technical school is located there. Marl is extracted near Amvrosievka.
